Our transnational meeting in Valencia

On June 10, the 5th transnational meeting was held in Valencia, Spain, at the Xabec vocational training center.
These meetings provide an opportunity to exchange views with the team on the progress of the project, and to define the next stages of work together.
The publication of the training modules, now finalized, and the opening of the MOOC next September were on the agenda.

Time was devoted to presenting the Caseine platform we had chosen for this first session, on which all our teaching resources and course materials are published.

Together, we drew up a plan for testing the platform, with the aim of familiarizing ourselves with the tool.
The team has therefore decided to call on a few volunteers to take part in the modules.
This preparatory training will enable us to master the different functionalities of the platform when the MOOC is launched in September.
We’ll also be able to follow participants’ activity on the various modules resources.

Our working meeting ended with a tour of the training center’s practical rooms.
XABEC has trained a large number of experienced adults seeking an advanced qualification that validates their expertise and opens up new employment prospects. It was one of the first establishments to implement dual vocational training, receiving best practice recognition in 2018 from the Bertelsmann Foundation.

We have discovered different facilities for initial and further training.

One of the workshops we visited features various installations for electrical assembly and maintenance, as well as the assembly of electrical and electronic panels and systems.

These courses are provided both as part of official training courses and as part of specific training for social entities.

Electrical assembly and maintenance

Automation is one of the subjects taught at the training center. Practical work focuses on industrial mechatronics, such as configuring mechatronic systems, maintaining automated lines and integrating mechatronic systems.

Students work with PLCs and have the opportunity to program equipment such as robots and cobots.

Another area is dedicated to engines and railway maintenance.

Training programs are offered to unemployed workers in industrial and elevator maintenance.

Metal mechanics is taught alongside practical sessions on mechanical assembly and maintenance, machining and manufacturing processes.

Another workshop features HVAC and industrial refrigeration systems. Training modules focus on the installation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, heating systems and plumbing.

The configuration of refrigeration systems is taught at post-graduate level.

Job seekers have the opportunity to specialize in the maintenance of air conditioning equipment, domestic gas installations and renewable energies.
These training courses meet the needs of companies who want their teams to be able to upgrade their skills and adapt to the new technical and regulatory requirements of the market.

The following day, colleagues enjoyed a visit to the STADLER train manufacturing company, which has set up a training center for students undergoing initial training, jobseekers and technicians undergoing further training.
Workshops are available for practical sessions and Xabec provides all the training.

These annual meetings at the consortium’s training establishments help to maintain solid and lasting team cohesion.
They provide a forum for discussion and exchange, fuelled by individual and collective thoughts and questions.

We would particularly like to thank the director of the establishment Ignacio FERRER, Gregorio BLANCO SAEZ, Jose Manuel ALEGRE and the whole of the Xabec training centre for their warm welcome and for organising our stay.

The team looks forward to seeing you at the end of November for the project’s closing event in the Lyon region.
