First course given in Lithuania October 16 and 17, 2023 : solar energy !

The Greentech project’s team is proud to present you the first testing session of its modules. The objective was to assess if the developed content is relevant for European students, independently from their country of origin.

This first session took place at Panevėžio kolegija/ /State Higher Education Institution (PANKO), in Lithuania, October 16 and 17, 2023. Students tested the module M1, about solar energy, developed by the teacher and researcher Remigijus Kaliasas at PANKO.

Indeed, it’s important to collect students’opinion, to evaluate if contents meet their expectations. The course’s topic seems to be tailored and accessible. A large part of students have acquired new skills. Moreover, for them, learning objectives were met. The global evaluation of the content of the course is positive. Students have been interested in subjects covered. We have observed un important point, students were supported in their learning process.
The presence of the teacher was required to ensure a clear understanding of the target objectives.

Each module contains a theoretical part and a practical part.
Evaluation results show that theoretical parts were satisfactory for a large part of students, more than 80 %. The case study was a good complement for a better understanding of content, via a concret work situation.

If videos were useful, we observe that the number of media presented was maybe not diversified enough. It will be interesting to know the expectations of the students for future developments. Another area for improvement : the number of female students who attended the module is too low (10%) regarding the project target (40%). Results show the need for more female students in these technical training courses.

Knowledge evaluation shows that students have understood solar photovoltaic technology and are able to explain how solar heating and PV – electricity work : goal achieved !

Next step : the solar energy module will be tested in France, IUT1 – Université Grenoble Alpes in February 2024.
